In broad terms, The aims and objectives of the Data Management and Analysis unit are to provide a range of accurate infomation to the University for Planning And managerial decission-making, produces a range of institutional statistics and undertakes data manipulation, analysis and interpretation to convert raw data into useful management information. Compile and analyse statistical data for use in general planning, strategic and analysis planning, budgeting, database on various aspect of the university operations, sundry management requirement and repository.

Mandate of the Data Management & Analysis Unit

  1. Collection, interpretation, projection, and analysis of data from relevant bodies, for the internal evaluation of the performance status of the University on all NUC approved funding parameters and other guidelines.
  2. Managing the Facility Manager, an application for managing the university resources, most especially teaching facilities.
  3. Collation and analysis of the Staff/Students Evaluation data.
  4. Developing, managing and updating the website of the Directorate.
  5. Provision of data-base information on various aspects of University operations for use by the University as it deems fit; e.g. information on University academic/material resources, facilities, etc.
  6. Preparation of statistical data of qualified students for tertiary Institutions by sex and age to guide the University in providing Hostel accommodation and other facilities.
  7. planning and preparation of the University budget on academic matters and the subsequent allocation within the ambit of the approved budget. This is done in conjunction with the University Bursar who plans and implements financial matters.
  8. Regularly meet the data needs of internal and external bodies like the National Manpower Board and other bodies in the University.
  9. Preparing and revising the academic brief of the University, annual university statistical data and the periodic digest, university academic calendar, as well as lecture and examination time-tables.
  10. Collection of relevant data on changing trends on University activities e.g. enrolments, Staff Mix, FTEs, staff training and turnover, and passing such information for institutional based research.
  11. Developing a sound computerized database on all relevant information about staff and students in the University, in liaison with the Directorate of ICICT and Registry.
  12. Collection and storage of publications of statistical nature from other Universities.
  13. Analysis and interpretation of University annual and trend statistics.
  14. Organizing seminars and workshops to stimulate the academic community to deliver more efficient services.
  15. Publication of University records, statistics, and research reports as may be directed/ approved by the Vice-Chancellor.
  16. Any other duties assigned by the Director, DAPM.
